Five Galentine's Day Celebration Ideas

Five Galentine's Day Celebration Ideas

Valentine's Day is often associated with romantic love, but there's a growing trend that shifts the focus to celebrating the cherished bonds of friendship. Galentine's Day, popularized by the TV show "Parks and Recreation," is the perfect opportunity to honor the incredible women in your life. This February 13th, step away from traditional romantic notions and embrace the joy of sisterhood with these five fun ways to celebrate Galentine's Day.

  1. Have a craft night! Do you and your gals love to get creative? Grab some supplies from your local craft store and unleash yourselves onto the paper, felt and sparkles! There is something therapeutic about creating and getting silly with it and what better than doing that with some friends?! It can be as simple as getting wild with some Lisa Frank stickers on a piece of paper!
  2. Go on an adventure – explore a nearby city! Go to a museum exhibit and lunch, or get some retail therapy in!
  3. Host a brunch potluck! Find yourself a fun heart shaped waffle maker, get some toppings (like syrup, chocolate chips and bananas!) and some bacon and off you go. Someone else can bring the mimosas and you’ve got the basics more than handled!
  4. Have a self-care day! This can be as easy as a few face masks on the couch with Criminal Minds at home or a full blown day of treatments at a local establishment.
  5. Sign up for a class! Whether it clay throwing, cooking or glassblowing, the joy is in the experience and getting to spend time with your loved ones. The beauty of date idea is that it can also be a FRIEND date 💜

I’d be remiss to not thank my friend Puja for inspiring a few of these ideas, but she’s also the reason OFT exists, so it’s fitting!
